This article investigates the level of confidence of the Brazilian population in the press. Two questions were asked: was there a drop in the level of confidence of the Brazilian in the press? Which media do Brazilians trust most in 2020? To carry out the research, a bibliographic study was developed, complemented by an interpretive analysis of opinion polls conducted since 2012 by the Datafolha Institute. We note that the level of confidence in the press decreased, reaching its minimum level in 2018, an election year marked by attacks on the traditional press. However, in 2019 this same index rose again, reaching levels comparable to the first year of this analysis, in 2012. The theme is relevant because it addresses communication in contemporary Brazil.
