Abstract

The article aims to understand the role of part of the media during the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. How did you come to the paradox that private media companies competing with each other would come together and become key players in managing “official” information about Covid's deaths and cases? To try to answer this question, the article was divided into two parts: at first, we made a retrospective of the events that led to the creation of a communication consortium designed to provide information on the spread of the Coronavirus in Brazil, for, in a secondly, we weave some problems involved in this information management by the government and the consortium of private companies and, for this, we use the theoretical framework of biopolitics, notably the studies of the French philosopher Michel Foucault on the management of epidemic diseases from a process of life management in cities.
