This article is a semiotic analysis of the opening vignettes of Brazilian soap opera, in order to show how these pieces feature audiovisual representative signs, most often related to the nuclear narrative content of the program. Semiotics is a philosophy that studies any kind of language as a sign, analyzing their forms of representation. The trichotomous chosen line within this extensive study is the thirdness, which will allow a more detailed analysis, providing interpretive and argumentative conclusions. During the study period, the figure of the woman, linked to sensuality and movement of the scenes idea was represented in many ways and helped build the dramaturgical imagery of an era. A methodological approach was carried out considering the following works: Tieta (1989/1990) and Mulheres de Areia (1993).
